Just looking at all the pictures that you two have posted makes me feel out of breath - - I’ve climbed the mountains, driven around that curvy road, stared at all the new “stuff”,  and tried to imagine just what it is like to be in surroundings like that!  What an experience! My mind can’t even comprehend all that you have been witnessing, not only with the mine but with individuals with whom you come in contact.  Please take care - - we love you and we remember you both in our prayers.  Thanks for the articles and the pictures.  We are getting an eduation, thanks to you guys.  Much love, Grandma

It was good to hear from you (in July) - - we don’t have

that on our calendar, but we are old and slow so maybe that accounts for it.  We’d love to send you some rain - - would you take it?  We think of you often.  Here’s a hug from Grandpa!

So here it is, almost the end of June, and we’re still waiting, impaitently for a post from the other side of the world. You’d better get to it quick–you don’t want to skip a month on your website, now, do you?

Okay, seriously, is Eric wearing a sleeve-less shirt in that bird foot-cam photo? For real? I mean, I realize it is hotter than two rats in a wool sock over there, and the humidity is like, 100% + Pi, but come on. I won’t even wear one of those things in the middle of a South Dakota summer, and I hear white trash jokes from you two all the time! Next thing you know, Eric will have a mullet and a bunch of his teeth will fall out, and you guys will move into a single-wide trailer, and there will be a Camaro sitting on blocks in the front yard.

We made it back home after our overnight flight from Jakarta to here.  Luggage all survived and no major travel incidents, other than I almost jumped out of my skin when I opened the bathroom stall at the Timika airport to find a GIANT SPIDER on the toilet seat.  That was better than a double-espresso.

We made it to our hotel in Jakarta this evening.  The ride was eerily similar to an Atlanta Friday evening commute, just with more minivans.  Packing for a vacation in the Midwest (aka: dressing like rednecks) it’s safe to say that we are severely under-dressed for metropolitan Jakarta.  I guess it could be worse.  We could be wearing cowboy boots and big belt buckles and REALLY look out of place.  Ha!

It was so great to get the latest news from Papua.  We look forward to your arrival in the US soon.  Thank you for the interesting up-date.  Love, Grandma & Grandpa

Hello to all on the blog site!  I have internet access and some actual time to use it again.  The company has gotten me my own office now and they actually have internet access in here…I know, it is a communications company and not all of the areas have internet access…kinda weird huh?  Anyways, I really have nothing to blog about right now since I have been out of the loop for so long.  I’m just glad to be back online.
